About the time we started thinking about starting this business, my family visited my two oldest sons, Sean and Matt Ryan. At the time, both were stationed at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina with the 82nd Airborne Division. The 82nd is also commonly referred to as "The All-American" Division, and recognized by the "AA" shoulder patch and all other Division insignia. As you enter Ft. Bragg, you drive in on the "All-American" highway.
When it came time to select a business name, the decision was simple. Our business name takes into consideration our sons and the career path they have chosen, then pays respect to all this nation's servicemen and women, regardless of what branch they serve in. The "AA" from our logo is patterned after the 82nd's and our colors are those of the American flag.
Dan Ryan - Owner / Head Trainer
Coach Ryan has been training athletes for over 25 years.
He has a diverse athletic background, competing in Football, Baseball, Swimming, Wrestling and Track & Field in High School. In college, Dan was a team captain and leading tackler as a Linebacker at Division III Buffalo State College. Joining the US Army, he played baseball in the German-American baseball association and picked up the game of Rugby at Ft. Riley, Kansas and in Bamberg, Germany. Returning to American soil while still serving in the Army, Dan joined the Cincinnati Wolfhounds Rugby Club and was selected to the "All-Army" team before a knee injury slowed his rugby career. He continued to play the occasional "Old Boys" rugby match and played in Men's Senior League Baseball until his oldest son began his high school years.
Coaching and training athletes took over as Dan began coaching little league and knothole baseball for his children, helped in the local high school weight room and took on fitness testing responsibilities at his new line of work, law enforcement. Dan set up the fitness programs for several local police agencies and conducted the standard fitness tests for many of them as well.
The game of rugby called again as a high school league was started and the Northern Kentucky Gentlemen's High School RFC needed a coach. After six seasons coaching the rugby club, an opportunity opened at a local High School for a strength & conditioning coach, as well as d-line coach and JV defensive coordinator position. Continued successes and the encouragement of friends, family and fellow coaches led to the opening of this training facility.
Dan also continued his education, earning several certifications from the world renowned Cooper Institute of Aerobic Research in Dallas, Texas. Interest in strength training led him to training at Louie Simmons' Westside Barbell Club and Dave Tate's EliteFTS. Most recently, flexbands have taken a large role in the training that Dan does, studying under the man that developed the bands, Dick Hartzell in Youngstown, Ohio.
